The Family as an Institution

We live in a society where we have choices. In the United States, we can choose where to live, with whom to live with, what to eat, where to work and so on. The image of carriage one lives is dependent on the attribute of upbringing they had, the choices that they make, the type of family that they are natural into, if their parents are college graduates, likewise of what race and social class the family falls into. Those are healthful a few of the variables that are taken into account when forming sustenance statistics. I find it ironic that our lives since birth are already sort of predestined to be good or ill-scented depending on the choices of our parents and how we are raised, however we have no wander in who our parents are. Even though I love my parents unconditionally, I k at a time that I wouldnt have chose them. I was born in 1982 to a young mother, and a father that was accustomed to drugs for the first 22 age of my life. My father stopped using dru gs the same time I had my first child. It was besides at that time that I became concerned in sociology, more specifically the family complex body fall apart because I wanted to k instantaneously everything that I could in do to prevent my child from growing up in a dysfunctional family. What I have found oer the eld since my sons birth is that the family is the basis of our society. If the family, as an institution, is not surgical surgical procedure efficiently, then all other aspects of our society do not function efficiently either. In our society, the norm, or normal family anatomical structure is the nuclear family, which consists of a father and a mother and the children. Technically, in traditional nuclear families the mother does not work, and the father does. typically the mother stays home and raises the children and tends to the house and all family errands. But, now it is more likely that the mother will work outside the home at some point because the cos t of life is much more expensive than ev! er before.
