John M. Keynes Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words

John M. Keynes - Research Paper ExampleTo Keynes, the nineteenth-century classical economics was inherently inadequate not that in eliminating national unemployment for those qualified and able to work at the prevailing wage rates, but they were also inefficient in distributing the national cake, thus creating unnecessarily the poor and uncivilized middle class (Keynes, 1963). Accordingly, he Keynes modeled a theoretical alternative framework, allowing governmental intervention to eliminate the faults of an economic system as they arise (Harrod, 1951). Indeed as it is, Keynes ended up with a powerful model, whose application is currently underway in sorting wide ranging practical humans distress under the existing economic systems, right from the United States, a world economic leader struggling with massive deficits in the aftermath of a deadly crisis, to smaller, poor nations in the developing world. In his General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money (basically the heart of Keynesian economics), Keynes directed his energies in challenging the classical orthodoxy with an explicit analysis of what determines and what is the essential nature of effective demand within any economic system. With the exception of foreign trade, effective demand, according to Keynes, consists of three consumption streams household consumptions, investments, and government overheads, all of which are determined autonomously (Davidson, 2007). A realist with a strong distaste for the Panglossian philosophy, Keynes argued that the take aim of aggregate demand may well trump or fall way below the national physical production capacity. As such, the philosophy of automatic adjustment to produce at a level tending to the full employment of all available productive resource was a flawed economic assumption that might not be realise after all, for In the long-run we are all dead, a fundamental theoretical shocker to the traditional economic optimism regardless of the circumstances, however strenuous (Davidson, 2007, p. 15). Marketing - Essay ExampleFor this reason, brands must select celebrity endorsements very carefully because the expense needed for celebrity endorsement is braggy yet there are many risks involved simply due to the fact that a brand cannot control a celebritys actions in either their captain or personal lives. For brands that are looking to be successful, the easiest way to do this is by associating the brand with a celebrity that already has success. The hope is that consumers forget brother the success of the celebrity with the brand they are supporting. The reality is that this is very often not the case, yet it is human nature to link one success with another. The confound that marketers return is trying to convince the target market that the celebrity really does support the brand and stick outs for the values of the brand. Celebrity often grow their own sports fan bases, usually in the entertainment and sporting industries, so a key reason why marketers want to use cele brities to endorse a product is to have access to these loyal groups of fans. Some high-profile companies are willing to spend millions of dollars in order to attract celebrities that are well-known. One such example occurred in January of 2013 when Nike write world number one golfer Rory McIlroy to be its major celebrity icon. Although the terms of the deal were never released, many insiders to the deal estimate that McIlroy will suffer $100 million over the next five years or up to $250 million over 10 years (Crouse 2013). While this may come along like crazy money, Nike is betting on the fact that McIlroy will remain a force in the golfing world for some time yet. Because of his relatively young age, 23, he has the potential to dominate the golfing world over the next decade. When McIlroy steps up for the winning putt at some of golfs major events, Nike wants the world to see McIlroy with his Nike cap on, the Nike swoosh on his shirt, and the Nike golf club that he is using. However, if a celebrity does something that brings shame to a brand, then it may have a long-term effect on the brand. Just recently, the well-known Paralympian Oscar Pistorius shot dead his girlfriend in his South African home. Although the details of his actions are hush to be determined in a court of law, some of Pistorius main sponsors were quick to distance themselves from the controversy (Davis 2013). One popular new ad was a Nike ad in which Pistorius starred in. The tagline of the ad was that Pistorius was the bullet in the chamber (Davis 2013). The ad was quickly pulled by Nike when it realized how ironic this advertisement was considering the circumstances. Celebrity endorsements will continue to be lucrative for brands that are looking to increase their reach to consumers, but there are also some downsides involved if that celebrity locomote from the public eye. If celebrities are used to help market products and services, then a brand needs to be very selective and on ly select celebrities that stand for the values of the brand. Bibliography Crouse, Karen. Against School EssayAgainst School Gattos opinion on school is extremely blood-and-guts and straight forward. For the most part I summate with his standing point on the subject of schooling. I agree with his arguments of how we have become a parliamentary law that completely relies on technology to keep us from being bored, and this notion teaches us to be absent mind(p) rather than creative. I also agree that keeping kids locked up in a building for about seven hours a day gives us no room to grow individually and contain from life experiences. Not only are students the ones in jeopardy because of this confined structure, but the teachers are as well. Its almost like this narrow minded school system we abide by is just a dark cloud that hovers over us and imprints this idea that there is no other route to do things. What ever happened to picking up a book and actually exercising the brain to imagine impossible things such as dragons and fairies?Does the board of education honestly think that they are tricking everyone into thinking that you leave learn better off of a simple worksheet rather than actually going out and doing hands on interactions? Why do they restrict us? Its almost like they emphasis conformity. Its such a contradicting setting, school is. They put so much pressure on us to be individual and be completely yourself, yet they dont allow us freedom to do so. I think we all stay so indifferent to the subject that its only getting worse. And also invested employees with high c ost of training which are sometimes sent to overseas, strike from the organization, hence this is loss and it affects the efficiency of an organization. but on the other hand Nation subsume has all mostly HR policies that is written on organizational procedures, which are delivered to employees in order to act on their activities. Public Education Essay Example for Free

Public Education EssayPublic commandment has been an important segment of our region throughout history. After the Declaration of Indep arrestence, fourteen states had their own constitutions by 1791. Seven of those states had specific provisions regarding education. Thomas Jefferson was one of the first American leaders to mention a public school system. He believed that education should be under the control of the governing, available to all people regardless of their status in society, and rationalise from religious biases. Before the 1840s, the education system was only available to the wealthy. However, legion(predicate) reformers wanted all children in the United States to receive the benefits of education. Two reformers, Horace Mann and Henry Barnard created the rough-cut School Journal, which was a newspaper that brought the issue of education out into the public. Because of their efforts, free public education at the elementary level was available for children by the end of the 19th century. Throughout the 1900s, m any schools were created due to increased demand for skilled workers. As the 20th century progressed, many states began to enact legislation requiring people to go to school, and enrollment so bed. That is how our public education system got to where it is today. at that place argon still many issues regarding our public education system, such as some atomic number 18as teaching let out than others, and some classrooms having violate materials than others. Local and Federal governments take a crap always been involved in schools, making sure that they teach to their full likely. There are many congressional elevations that have been passed, and many that are fighting to be passed. A very important cock that is out there today is the Student crown of Rights, or H. R. 1295. The Student line of Rights is a congressional agitate regarding education. It was introduced on March 31st, 2011. It is sponsored by congressman Chaka Fattah. The Student Bill of Rights basically makes sure that schools are providing their students with a proper education. It especially attentions the disadvantaged students. Disadvantaged means the students who are falling behind in academics, as well as the handicapped. It allows the secretary of education to annually determine whether each states public school system provides all its students with the educational resources they need to succeed academically and in life. The main idea of this bill is that it requires all education to enable students to acquire knowledge and skills necessary for responsible citizenship, meet challenging academic achievement standards, and compete and succeed in a global economy. It does this by requiring each educational system to satisfy certain criteria. One of the criteria is that the schools must satisfy certain Opportunity To defraud (OTL) indicators for all its schools, including impelling teachers and resources. Opportunity To Learn indica tors are strategies introduced several decades ago, and they are defined by a narrow set of instructions. Many educators and policy makers use the Opportunity to Learn concept, ensuring that all students receive an equal education, especially or disadvantaged and minority students. It helps schools, especially poor ones, educate all their students, and it makes the schools that are worse off a priority. Another criteria is that it provides educational services in local educational agencies (LEAs) that receive property for disadvantaged students. There are local educational agencies that receive funds from the government and some that do not.Generally speaking, the ones that do not receive funds usually have a better educational program, because that educational performance has much money. This criteria makes sure that the educational services given to funded local educational agencies are equivalent to the educational services given to local educational agencies that do not receiv e funds from the government. This means that the schools that are better off allow for not get as much help as the schools that in reality need help. This get out make sure that the education that both these local educational agencies provide is similar. The final criteria is that it requires each educational system to comply with any final state or federal court order in any matter concerning the effectiveness or adequacy of the system. That means that the government get out have the final say. So if a school feels that it is providing adequate education and the state feels that it does not, then the school will have to submit to the state and comply. This will make sure that all schools live up to the state and federal standards, ensuring that all students receive similar education. The Student Bill of Rights also allows students orparents who are aggrieved by violations of this Act to bring civil actions for enforcement in federal district courts. That means that if students or parents feel that the educational system under the Student Bill of Rights does not meet those criteria and are violating the bill, then they are allowed to take this to court to ensure that the bill is not violated. The Student Bill of Rights also allows the federal government to withhold portions of an educational systems funding for administrative expenses. The criteria for this to happen is if the school fails to meet a yearly goal.Another criteria is if the school does not remedy a blow to provide educational services that are comparable to the services that other schools offer for disadvantaged students, after two years. This means that if there are violations and those violations are not fixed within two years, then the school will have funds withheld from them. The last criteria is if the school does comply with a court order. There are many pros and cons of this bill, but the pros will definitely outweigh the cons. There are two goals of every school, and that is to produc e workers and create citizens.A pro of this bill is that it will make sure that schools are able to do this. It will make sure that schools are able to create a pool of workers with at least minimum competence and attitudes from which businesses can select employees from. This bill will help the disadvantaged learn many skills that are necessary to succeed in the working world. Those basic skills should be achieved by all students, as they are needed in most jobs. This will also increase the number of students shock competence in basic skills, thereby increasing the pool of workers from which employers can select from.More students will have the opportunity to enter the work force, and the better ones will be selected, providing businesses with better workers. Keep in mind that opportunity doesnt mean that the students will get a job, it just means that they will have a chance to get it. That leads to another pro, which is competition for jobs. The competition for jobs allows busin esses to get better workers and keep their wages lower, decreasing costs and increasing profits. However, this means that it may be harder for others to find jobs due to the competition. With much available workers in the workforce, there will be fewer available openings for jobs. So this bill actually helps the employers more than the workers, but it is still beneficial for all students. This bill will help schools create citizens because it will educate and teach many students the skills necessary to become generative citizens in our society. It helps students achieve personal excellence. It will nurture students to become adults who have the skills, attitudes, and knowledge to become productive community members, leaders, parents, and workers. It can help students identify their interests and abilities, help set goals for them, teach them responsibility and decision making, teach them how to work as a group, and make sure that every student reaches his or her full potential. This bill is fairly new. It was referred to the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, and it has yet to pass. There hasnt been much action on this bill. This bill would be very effective if passed because it will help many students, mainly disadvantaged ones, achieve their full potential.Congress, the White House, and the U.S Supreme Court hasnt done much for this bill, nor have non-profit or non-governmental organizations. However, if this bill is passed, the potential outcomes will be great. There will be many students that succeed as citizens and workers. The standard for learning will go up, and students will be more knowledgeable overall. Eventually, our society will become much more smarter in the future, raising the standard of living for all Americans. Our brains should be considered the most important part of our bodies, because if we all train our brains, the possibilities are endless
